Smart glasses are a problem. This is the solution.
The big tech oligarchs are trying hard to get smart glasses widely adopted. I think that this is likely to be a very bad thing based on two pieces of evidence.
- Everything they have ever said or done before.
- The current user base of smart glasses.
Expanding on the second point, an exhaustive survey of existing online content reveals the user breakdown of smart glasses is as follows:
- Irritating influencers with no concept of personal space.
- People trying to start fights or film car crashes.
- People who describe themselves as 'journalists', 'content creators' or 'auditors' but are actually just dirty perverts.
- People who already are, or in the future will be, convicted sex offenders.
For brevity we can categorise these as IDIOTS, ARSEHOLES, PERVERTS and NONCES. The proportion of each has been carefully graphed below:
Based on this irrefutable evidence I think a sensible and proportional solution would be:
Everyone who purchases, owns or uses a pair of smart glasses is automatically added to the sex offenders register.
That will save some time won't it? To make things fair they should be able to apply to be taken off if they can prove that they are using them for something useful and non-perverted. Like, I don't know, rescuing people trapped in caves, or teaching brain surgery.
Other than that we should shun anyone who wants to surveil and record everyone around them without permission like the sex pests that they (almost certainly) are.
